Roy Sink of Sweetwater, TN and formerly of Orange County, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN following a long illness. He was 64.
The son of Natalie Overton Sink and the late Paul E. Sink, he was born on January 15, 1946 in Goshen, NY. Roy served as a minister for the Salvation Army. In addition to his ministry, he also ran drug and alcohol programs in Oklahoma, Florida and Maryland. He married Ruth Ann Vandemark on March 27, 1994 in Port Jervis.
Roy will be remembered as charismatic, bright and gifted with finances. He will be missed by his loving family.
In addition to his wife Ruth Ann, Roy is survived by his son Jason Sink of Sweetwater, and daughter, Holly and her husband Armando Gonzalez-Medina of Loveland, CO;stepson Arthur Joseph Sigler of Montgomery and stepdaughter, Meloni DiGaetano of NC; his mother, Natalie and brother, Allen and his wife Susan of Greenville; grandchildren, Antonio and Elizabeth; two nephews, Paul and Brian and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 11 am on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the funeral home, Rev. Wildeman will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring in Ridgebury Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Roy's name may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of one’s choice.
