Roy Heater, Jr. of Middletown died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 72 years old.
He was born in Middletown on July 17, 1939 to the late Roy Ronald and Lulu Marie Wahl Heater. Roy loved being his own boss, working outside on his cherished backhoe, and enjoyed a cigar and a Budweiser. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Roy is survived by his significant other, Elizabeth O'Dend'hal; son, David Heater, and daughter, Toni Lou Heater both of Middletown; brother, Richard (Dick) Heater and his wife, Nancy of Middletown; sisters Joan Bruning and her husband, Don, Marie Rose Smith and Shirley Waterman and her husband, Al, all of Middletown. Besides being predeceased by his parents, he is also predeceased by his son, Roy Heather III, a brother, Robert and a brother-in-law, Donald Smith.
Visitation hours are 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, April 21 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the family plot in Wallkill Cemetery.
