Obituary for Rose T. Pace
Rose T. Pace, retired school cafeteria manager, died Monday, April 23, 2007 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus. She was 89 years old.
The daughter of the late Antonio and Elizabeth Grecco Ruggiero, Rose was born December 29, 1917 in Manhattan. Rose worked and raised her family in the Bronx, and moved to the Middletown area eight years ago after the death of her husband, Nicholas.
A family statement reads, “Our world is a better place for having a caregiver like Rose in it. She was always there for us and any of her friends, had boundless energy and a great love for her family.”
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Ardizzone and her husband, Frank, of Middletown, and Angela Colon of the Bronx; her three grandchildren Lisa, Frankie, and Samantha; her sister-in-law Camille Pellerite; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicholas R. Pace in 1994, and her nine brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, April 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 26 at 10 am at Holy Cross RC Church, South Centerville. Fr. Robert Porpora will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow in the family plot in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
Memorial contributions in Rose’s name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stonybrook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550.
