Rose A. Ciccone, a resident of the area since 1973, died following a long illness on April 26, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Place at Bon Secours Hospital in Port Jervis, NY. She was 84.
One of nine children born to the late Sebastian and Maria Cagliostro, she was born on October 14, 1932 in New Rochelle, NY. She married Dino Ciccone, who predeceased her in 2000. Rose was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown. She loved playing cards; gin rummy, poker and continental casino. She enjoyed the beach and loved to crochet-she could make a blanket in 3 hours.
Rose is survived by her children; Kathleen Gnazzo and her husband Mike of Highland Falls, Donna Schafer and her husband Joseph of Port Jervis, Dino and his wife Remy of Syrma, GA, Louis and his wife Donna of Middletown and Michael and Erin of Georgia; her sisters, Margaret Cirillo of Naugatuck, CT and Mary Pagano and her husband Carl of Harrison, NY and brothers, Dominick , John and Frank. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Traci, Jackie, Kenneth, Jake, Anthony, Gregory, Marissa, Chelsea, Michelle, T.J., Chris, Mike and Melissa and great-grandchildren, Connor, Gannon,Keegan,Taylor,Emily,Mason and Morgan
She was predeceased by one grandson, Ryan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940.
