Rosario “Roy” Meli, died suddenly on Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home with his loving son and daughter in law at his side. He was 75.
The son of the late Rosario and Genevive Balzano Meli, he was born on October 11, 1942 in White Plains, NY. Roy married Helena G. Marinello and they shared nearly 46 years together before her death in 2010. Roy was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown. He was a dedicated husband and devoted father who had a great sense of humor and was a fantastic storyteller. He always sacrificed for the good of his family and was a good provider for them throughout his life. He loved his cars and was an active member of the Tri-State Auto Club.
Roy is survived by his son Rosario N. Meli, III and his wife Norma Diaz Meli and brother Joseph and his wife Joanne of New Jersey.
Visitation is from 9 to 11 am on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Applebee-mcPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
