Rosaria Sidoti Donahoe, a lifetime area resident, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Newburgh, NY. She was 73.
The daughter of the late Phillip and Angelina Sidoti, she was born on April 1, 1944 in Middletown, NY. Ro was a 1961 graduate of Middletown High School and continued her studies at Marist College. She proudly served in the US Airforce from 1962-1963 and stayed connected to the Veterans Agencies following her release from service. She worked for Oswego State in Business Administration and received her BA in 1985. She continued her studies at Marist College and received her Masters’ in 1994. She was a smart and independent woman. She was helpful and lent her self to be an organizer for her Middletown High School Class Reunion both in the past and for the upcoming one this year. She was very social and loved meeting with her girlfriends, taking care of neighbors with her baked goods and just spending time with others. She enjoyed quilting and painting and was a fantastic cook. She loved the holidays and created huge assortments of Italian cookies to give to nearly everyone she knoew. She cherished her grandchildren and lived her life for them and her children. She was an active member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Bullville and later at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel until her recent illness.
She is survived by her children, Matthew Donahoe and his wife Joelle of Rochester, NY and Michelle Colon and her husband Isaias of Middletown; and her beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Paige, Addison, and Devin Donahoe and Isabella and Brayden Colon. She was predeceassed by her brothers, Pasquale, Andrew and Phillip Sidoti.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 am on Friday at the funeral home, burial with Miltiary honors will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery , 11 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
