Ronald “Ronnie" Mergenthaler, 63, passed away on August 14, 2021, at Garnet Hospital, in Middletown, NY.
Ronnie was born on October 15, 1957, in Queens, NY, to Edward Sr. and Esia Mergenthaler. He graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communication.
Ron Mergenthaler worked as a sportswriter for newspapers in Syracuse, Long Island, and Middletown, which was his current home. He was a Vendor at Shea Stadium/ Citi Field for more than 4 decades. His lifetime love of sports was his hobby and never waned even in his later years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; son, Timothy; parents Edward Sr. and Esia; brother Edward Jr (Lia).
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., in Middletown, NY. Condolences may be sent to any of Ronnie’s surviving family.
