Roger W. Culmer, Sr.was born on May 11, 1958 in the Bronx, NY. He was the youngest boy born to Ralph Culmer, Sr and Patricia Culmer. He met his best friend/wife in 1994. Roger and Karen were married on August 8, 1998 in Middletown, where he resided until he gave up his courageous battle on April 22, 2017.
He worked for over 20 years for MTA as a Bus Operator.
He was a member of Church of the Transformation, along with his family. Roger had a great personality and a good sense of humor. He was a people person, which made him very well suited for his occupation. He also loved being home and being Mr. Mom to his kids. He was a fantastic cook and an awesome Dad. Roger was Mr. Cool, he was a sharp dresser and enjoyed R&B and Hip Hop. He was a big supporter of the NY Jets and Knicks.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, and his daughters, Ashley of Charleston, S.C., and Courtney of Middletown and three sons, Roger “William”, Jayson and Justin all at home. He is also survived by his brother, Ralph Culmer, Jr, of Maryland, and four sisters, Brenda lee of Maryland, Karen Thomas of Maywood, NJ, Patricia Besson of Pelham, NY, Robin Richardson of Tuckahoe, NY, also a host of nieces and nephews that loved and will miss him very much.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at 9 am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Church of the Transformation, Blumel Road, Middletown, NY. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middle Hope. Memorial contributions may be made to Karen Culmer, 731 Rt. 211, PO 4573, Middletown, NY 10941.
