Robert F. Papesca, a longtime resident and retired textile designer passed away after a brief illness on November 5, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 88.
The son of the late Louis and Alice O’Hara Papesca, he was born in the Bronx on July 5, 1930. He was the youngest and last surviving of eight siblings.
He married Mary Catlin on September 12, 1953 in the Bronx, and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage and one son and one daughter.
Robert was a very outgoing person who loved people, especially his loving wife, children and grandchildren. After retirement from Burlington Industries, he worked at the Scotchtown Car Wash and entertained customers with his humor, his dancing and his friendly personality. He also had a wonderful artistic talent and a love for the sport of boxing.
He was also a Veteran, having spent four years in the U.S. Airforce.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Mary; one son, Bob and his wife, Liz of Pine Bush; one daughter, Betsy of Scotchtown; three grandchildren:; Daniel, Thomas and Michael, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9 from 2 to 2:30 with A Service of Remembrance at 2:30. The Reverend Gregory Higgins of the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Pine Bush will officiate.
