Obituary for Robert Nola
Robert Nola, a lifetime area resident died unexpectedly at home Friday, March 23, 2007. He was 45 years old.
The son of Thomas and Mary Tricano Nola, Robert was born August 30, 1961 in Middletown, NY.
A family statement reads, “Bob was a fantastic dad and a kind, loving husband. He was completely selfless. He gave up his career to devote himself to bringing up his most precious gift, Thomas. The bond Bob had with Thomas was inspiring to everyone they knew. Bob could connect with children without words. He had a truly youthful spirit that he shared with everyone. He had a special fondness for all his nieces and nephews.He was very shy, but had an inate sense of humor that made him sparkle. Although he was guilty of many fashion crimes, he was otherwise a perfect gentle man.”
Besides his parents, Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah; cherished son Thomas; two sisters Joanne Schmitt and her husband, William, of Cary, NC, Ann Marie Kurthy and her husband, Kevin, of Rock Hill; 16 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to call today, Sunday, March 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 26 at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church in Wurtsboro. Fr. Peter Madori will officiate. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations in Robert’s name may be made to Monticello Cub Pack 101, P.O. Box 606, Glen Wild, NY 12738.
