Obituary for Robert Michael Moynihan
Robert M Moynihan of Middletown NY passed away May 26th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 21st, 1962 he was the Son of Gayle Moynihan and the late James Hobert Moynihan.
Robert was raised in River Edge NJ, where he was known for being easy-going although protective of his family whom he cherished. He was known for being the comedic relief throughout his life especially during family gatherings and stressful times. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1982 to 1985. His most recent service was on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as a Technical Specialist until 1985 when he transferred to the Navy Reserve until 1987. When his sons were born he moved to Highland Mills, NY with his family. Later in life he landed in Middletown NY where he remarried. He was an avid sports fan following the NY Jets, NY Mets, and NJ Devils. His most recent hobbies included following the stock market and Stratego tournaments with his son.
Robert is the proud and loving father of the late Kyle Moynihan and Brian Moynihan (26) who were born from his first marriage. In addition to his mother Gayle and son Brian, Robert is survived by his wife Rose Tedesco-Moynihan; his brother James Moynihan and his wife Maria; his sisters Laura Moynihan and Ellen Kuhn and her husband Bob. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral home at 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940 on June 1st between 10:30am and 12:30pm to celebrate his life. Internment will follow at Orange County Veterans Cemetery at 1pm.
