Robert L. “Bear” Rothschild of Circleville, NY, died on November 23, 2012. He was 73 years old. Robert was born on October 16, 1939 to Andrew and Maude Travis. He was raised in Port Jervis, NY and Shohola, PA.
He worked for the New York State Department of Transportation for 34 years as a truck driver. After his retirement, he worked for Robert Green Truck Division in Monticello.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Ryan Rothschild, 5 sons: Robert and his wife Denise of Bloomingburg, Richard of Montgomery, Ryan of Circleville, Ramiah and wife Jill of Greenville, Raham of Circleville; 3 daughters, Robin of New Castle, Del., Rondi and her significant other Frenchie of Mt. Hope, Risa and her significant other David of Bloomingburg,; 2 sisters; Dolores Smith and her husband Alan, Andrea Williams and her significant other Scott of Frost Valley; 8 grandchildren; Willie, Mason, Jennifer, Amanda, Mason, Dylan, Walker and Sawyer. He was predeceased by his parents; Andrew and Maude, 2 brothers; Thomas Kessock and Irving Rothschild.
A family statement reads: “Robert loved his home and his family. He recently told his family that he wouldn’t change one moment of his life. He loved working on cars and always had time to feed a stray cat or dog. He rescued many animals. He was a very happy and content man, with a wonderful sense of humor.”
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm on Friday, November 30th at East Bloomingburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, Joshua Drive, Bloomingburg, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Applee-McPhillips Funeral Home.

2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue,
Middletown, NY 10940.
