Robert L. Connoly, a longtime resident and beloved husband, father, and Grandpa, passed away at Garnet Medical Center on
Wednesday, November 3, 2021, with his family by his side.
The oldest of four children, he was born in the Bronx to John and Sylvia Connoly.
Bob spent years working as Vice President of Finance with L.P. Transportation in Chester, New York. He married his Polish sweetheart, Florence Maiker, on October 23, 1954 in Pine Island, New York. She taught this Italian Irishman to dance the Polka and Oberek, and together they spent many happy occasions gliding across the dance floor to the festive Polish music.
Bob honorably served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 151 and the Middletown Elks Lodge
1097.
He was a public accountant who was still working until his last birthday! He spent a lot of time enjoying his grandchildren, attending their hockey, softball and soccer games.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Florence, at home, his children, Mark and his wife Lori of Howells, Glen and his wife Susan of Walden, and his six cherished grandchildren; Lauren Reiser (Patrick), Mark Jr., Hannah, Sarah, Cindy and Matthew.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and three siblings: Eugene, Dolores, and Sylvia.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, New York with Reverend Father Dennis Nikolic officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the family plot.
