Robert John Daucher, an area resident since 2000, died following a short illness at home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 with his loving family at his side. He was 64.
Born on Christmas Day in 1953 in Catskill, NY, Robert was the son of Dolores Stapleton Daucher and the late Charles Daucher. Robert grew up in the Catskills and moved to Levittown while working for Metro North Railroad Police. He worked in the canine unit with his beloved dog, Radar and retired as a Luieteant. On June 10, 1995, Robert married Maureen “Moe” Breslin of Brooklyn, NY. Maureen and Bob relocated to Westtown in 2000. Upon retirement, he opened up a garage door company called Doors and More.
Bob was a great cook and an all around foodie. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with his family and friends.. He was a loving husband and father who adored his children and grandchildren. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden illness and death, so soon after the loss of his son, Brian earlier this year.
He is also predeceased by his father, Charles and his brother Eric Daucher.
In addition to his wife Maureen and his mother Dolores, Bob is survived by his son, Robert and his wife Sarah of Vero Beach,. FL and his daughter Melissa Daucher of Monroe, NY. He is also survived by his sister, Katherine Lutz and her husband David of Vero Beach, FL and his four grandchildren, Denver Daucher , Rebecca Daucher, Dominic Ventri and Chase Daucher and nephew Keaton and niece Ellie as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1 from 6 to 8 pm and Friday, November 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Holy Cross Church, 626 Co. Rt. 22, Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations in his name may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, N.Y. 12550.
