Obituary for Robert Frederick Wolf Jr.
FDNY Battalion Chief Robert Frederick Wolf Jr. peacefully passed on June 24, 2022 after a seven-year battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. A longtime resident of Orange County NY, Bob was born on Staten Island, NY on July 28,1941, the eldest child of the late Robert and Bessie Elizabeth Wolf. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Sharar and their children: Karen and son-in -law Jeff Spangler, Bryan and daughter-in-law Katie, Erica and son-in-law Tat Seto. He was particularly proud of his nine grandsons: Benjamin, Alex, Matt, Zack, James, Nick, Jakob, Owen and Colin.

Bob was the first of eight children. He is survived by his four brothers: John, Floyd, William, Karl, and his three sisters, Eleanor Caserta, Lillian Hord, Dorothy O’Connor, and brother-in-law Richard O'Connor, sisters-in-law Eileen, Kelly, Janet, and multiple generations of nieces and nephews and many cherished friends.

Bob was very a fortunate man, he never had a job he didn’t love. He served three years in the US Army while stationed in Germany. He was a member of the NYPD for two years, before beginning his career in 1967 with the Fire Department of New York, where he rose through the ranks to become a Battalion Chief in the Bronx. He retired after 35 years loving every minute with the “brothers.“

Among his pastimes was his love of restoration of antique cars, which he enjoyed driving all over the country. A close second was his love for Tarpon Springs, Florida with its Bayous, Gulf breezes and wonderful Snowbird friends.

We will all miss his sense of humor, sarcasm, love of dancing (polka anyone?), and go anywhere/do anything personality.

He was a loving husband, father and good friend.

Bob, you were so very loved and
will be sorely missed.

There will be a visitation at Applebee-Mcphillips Funeral Home at 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. July 5th, 2022, from 10 am to 1 pm.
