Robert E. Dwinall, a longtime area resident, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. He was 85 years old.
The son of the late Harold and Eloise Anderson Dwinall he was born on March 13, 1922 in Central Valley, NY.
A Veteran of WWII, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a firefighter for Stewart Airforce Base, and retired as a Fire Chief from Plattsburgh Air Force Base.
A family statement reads:” Dad, may you “walk” the stairway to heaven and find total peace.”
He is survived by his son, Robert F. Dwinall and his wife, Teresa of Wappingers Falls; his daughter Patricia D. Horton of Middletown; six grandchildren, Cindy Romolo, Robert, Eleanor, Richard, and Sarah Dwinall, and Helen Staniszewski; one great granddaughter, Sophia Staniszewski; three step children, Pat Nolan, Donna Gady and Keith Currier; one sister in law, Dorothy B. Smith of Waterloo.
Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Bennett Dwinall in 1990, his son-in-law Ronald F. Horton, his second wife Muriel Currier in 2002, and his sister Lenore Grossman.
Funeral services will be private, and at the convenience of the family. Robert’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Southwinds Retirement Home for caring for their Dad during some of the most difficult times.
