Robert Borrero, a former resident of the Middletown area, died following a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, September 13, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was 48.
The beloved son of the late Anne Marie Batsavage Gallagher, Bob was born on May 22, 1965 in Manhattan. He worked as a carpenter locally until relocating recently to Myrtle Beach, SC.
Bob had a great sense of humor and always had the ablity to make other people laugh. He was passionate and thorough about his work and truly enjoyed renovating and remodeling homes, including his own. He was very generous with a huge heart , he always put others first.
He is survived by his loving family; his wife Iris Kirmeier Borrero, his daughter, Petty Officer Amanda Borrero stationed in Buffalo, NY and his son, Justin Borrero, all of Myrtle Beach; his sisters, Karen D’Amato and her husband Frank of Newburgh and Donna Borrero of Pine Bush and his nephews, Frank D’Amato, Jr and Joseph D’Amato.
Visitation hours will be from 5 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 7:30 pm on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will be private at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
