Richard Witkowski, a lifetime area resident, died on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 59.
The son of the late John and Julia Kostycz Witkowski, he was born on February 2, 1957 in Middletown, NY. He was a 1975 graduate of Minisink Valley High School and married Pamela Sircable on September 6, 1975 in Ridgebury, NY. He was a strong husband and father who worked as a carpenter for Future Home Tech. Richard was everybody’s hero. He was spiritual, sensitive, generous and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked making conversation. He loved the outdoors, and going fishing.
In addition to his loving wife, Pam at home; he is survived by his daughters, Richelle “Shelly” Williams and her husband, Cory of Dingman’s Ferry, PA and Kelly Roggeman and her husband, Patrick of Middletown; brothers, James and his wife, Barbara of Surprise, AZ and Thomas Witkowski of Ridgebury and brother-in-law, Dan Pauley and four grandchildren: Tyler and Grace Williams and Ellie and Maxwell Roggeman; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, John Witkowski and his wife, Diane; sister, Kathryn Pauley and sister-in-law, Jean Witkowski.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 5 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6 at the funeral home; Fr. James Hess will officiate. Cremation will be private.
Memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
