Obituary for Richard W. Thompson
Richard W. Thompson, a longtime area resident, died unexpectantly Thursday, January 26, 2006 in Burlington, VT. He was 47 years old.
The son of the late Richard W. and Dorothy J. Milner Thompson, Richard was born on January 15, 1959 in Franklin, PA.
He was a 1977 graduate of Middletown High School and was employed at Wakefern Food Corporation. On May 16, 1992, Richard married the former Laurie Siers in New Vernon Church, New Vernon, NY.
A family statement reads:” Rich was a loving and considerate man who took responsibility seriously. His family was his priority but was always willing to help others. He loved golf, skiing, his mother-in-laws baking as well as golf outings with his father-in-law. He will always be remembered as a great husband and a wonderful dad who will be sorely missed by his family and many friends”
Besides his loving wife at home, Richard is survived by four children, Evan Richard at home, step-sonBrandon Flynn of Middletown, step-sonTyler Flynn of Bloomingburg and step-daughter Kiersten Flynn at home; one brother, James “Jimmy” Thompson and his wife Sherry of Cuddebackville and one sister, Tammy Thompson of Port Jervis.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 29, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, where a Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 8pm, Rev. Stuart Stiles officiating. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.
