Obituary for Richard Laput
RICHARD LAPUT
January 4, 1958 - November 7, 2012
Middletown, NY
Richard Laput, a lifelong resident of Middletown, NY, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Orange RegionalMedical Center. He was 54. He was born on January 4, 1958 in Manila, Philippines, the son of the late Dr. Amador J. Laput and Corazon Mankoo.
Rich was a retail manager of such stores as Sears, Lowe's and Home Goods and was loved by his fellow employees.
A statement from the family reads, "Rich, affectionately known to his family as "Dick", moved to the US in 1964. He attended Middletown High School where he played football and made many friends. He loved to fish with his daughter, Jessilyn, snuggle with Snuffy, lay in the sun at Virginia Beach, flash his beaming smile, eat savory foods, cook corn on the cob on the grill, ride around with the top down listening to classic rock, root for the New York Jets, share the love with all his friends, wish everyone good morning on facebook, help with all the animals at Pets Alive and just hang out with Frank Marino. One of his signature phrases was, "I could die tomorrow, so why not live life to the fullest?" and live life to the fullest is exactly what he did."
Surviving are his daughter, Jessilyn; former wife, Linc; mother and step-father, Corazon and Amrit Mankoo of Middletown; brother, Amador C. Laput, Jr. (Carol) of Glen Spey; brother, Jason Mankoo (Sally) of Howells; sister, Nikki Macaluso (Heath) of Otisville; sister, Dilshad Bowers (John) of England; nieces and nephews: Tyler, Evan, Amzie, Bailey, Sami, Lauren, Ava, Ella, Shyla, Mia, Sofia, Jaida, Callum, Ajanta; one grandnephew, Finn; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Rich is also survived by many friends, especially Frank Marino of Middletown, and his beloved dog, Snuffy.
