Richard H. Lee of Circleville, NY 9/27/42 -5/18/24
Richard passed away at the Montrose NY, Veteran’s Home in the early hours of Saturday, May 18th, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara, son Tim (Annemarie), daughter Kelly (Chris), niece Carolyn (Carl), granddaughters Katelyn & Madeline, grandson Nicholas, brothers Jack & Jimmy and sister Betsy. He is preceded in death by his mother (Mary), father (Edward), and older brother Robert.
Richard served honorably in the US Navy primarily on submarines and worked on Wall Street for most of his career. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He loved to read, listening to opera, enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball team, watching his grandson’s baseball games and spending time with his granddaughters. He also loved taking care of the many family dogs throughout the years. He was well liked and loved by all who knew him with a quick sense of wit that will be missed. “Life never works out the way you plan it.”
A visitation will be held at the Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY10940. Calling hours to be held Thursday, 5/23 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Final resting place will be the Orange County Veteran’s cemetery, 111 Craigville Road in Goshen, NY, 10924.
