Richard R. Krupunich, a long-time resident of Port Jervis and Middletown passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 23, 1945 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late John Krupunich Sr. and Anne Labosky Ouslander. He married Ellen Shea in Middletown, New York.
Richard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Viet Nam War, a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Elks 1097, Local VFW Post, an honorary Fire Fighter in Port Jervis, New York. He worked for many years in the Car Industry, as a Sales Manager in many various dealerships throughout New York State.
He loved horse racing and owned many Race Trotters at Monticello Raceway. The horses were his passion and many track records were broken by his horses.
He is pre-deceased by his parents, his wife Ellen, and his brother John Krupunich Sr.
Richard is survived by two nephews: Brian Krupunich of Port Jervis and David Krupunich and his wife Patty, also of Port Jervis. He is also survived by great nephews: Brandon and Bronson, and Great nieces Brianna and Amanda.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, New York from 5 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church,90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, New York at 10 A.M. On Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in the family plot at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Craigville Road, Goshen, New York.
