Rebecca (Becky) Kruger (11/7/1961-7/2/2023) died on Sunday, July 2nd at her home in
Middletown, NY.
Becky was a mother figure to many -- not only to her five children (Seth Kruger, Sarah
Padgett-Kruger, Noah Kruger, and Jeremiah Kruger, Amber Worden), but also to the
dozens of people who she invited into her home for a meal, for a laugh, or for a place to
stay. When Becky came by your house, you could expect that she’d come with a snack to
share, crafts for the kids to do, and a listening ear.
Her natural ability as a caregiver extended to her love of animals. Becky felt happiest when
caring for her flocks of sheep, chickens, and ducks: as a mentor and leader for the 4-H for
more than a decade, Becky shared her love of animals and her knowledge of their care with
youth throughout the Hudson Valley. If there was a parade to march in or a fair to show
animals in, you can bet she would be there.
Becky worked throughout the Middletown area, most recently as a bus driver for area
children. She wore many hats: when needed, she taught homeschool, ran her own
businesses, delivered newspapers, and so much more.
She leaves her husband, James and her mother, Ethel Kruger, and was predeceased by her father, Louis Kruger Sr..
She also leaves behind her beloved daughters Sarah Padgett-Kruger and Amber Worden,
her sons Seth Kruger, Noah Kruger, and Jeremiah Kruger; her brothers Louis Kruger Jr.,
John Kruger, and David Kruger, and her sister Rachel Mann. She was predeceased by her
sister Barbara Kruger. She leaves behind three grandchildren (Elizabeth Kruger, Phoebe
Kruger, and Dexter Kruger).
A gathering will be held at the Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church (890 Goshen
Tpke) at 3:00 PM July 14th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Orange
County 4 H Youth Club.
