Raymond Wronka of Middletown died at home, peacefully in his sleep, on Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was 61 years old. The son of the late Andrew Wronka and Helen Lyons Wronka, he was born on July 22, 1950 in the Bronx. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Watch Commander for the Federal Corrections Office.
Raymond was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and his family meant the world to him. He was an avid sports fan, but his heart belonged to his Bronx Bombers. He and his wife, Linda, shared a second home in Las Vegas where he could enjoy the casinos. He was the former owner of the Cove Bar in Middletown.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Linda, at home; his mother, Helen of Pine Bush; sons, Raymond and his wife, Jeanne of Middletown, and Jason and his wife, Jessica of Goshen; daughters, Melissa Massey of Florida, and Melissa Caceres of Middletown; three sisters: Vickie Kelly and her husband, Fred, and Debbie Matherly, all of Pine Bush, and Regina Desiray and her husband, Steve of Florida; and his eight adoring grandchildren: Marina, Anthony, Ray III, Conner, Noah, Aidan, Richie, and Josslyn. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew and brother, David.
Visitation hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 14 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940. Cremation will be private.
