Obituary for Ralph Maurizzio
Ralph Maurizzio, a lifelong area resident, entered into rest with his wife, Veda and sister, Maudie by his side, on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at VA Hudson Valley Health Care in Castle Point, N.Y. He was 60.The son of the late Thomas and Maude Hart Maurizzio he was born on October 28, 1946 in Middletown.He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On July 15, 1972 he married Veda Perry in Howells.Ralph is survived by his beloved wife, Veda, at home; his son, Paul Thomas Maurizzio and his girlfriend, Melissa Madden of Middletown; daughter, Stacey Lynn Maurizzio and her fiance, Gary DeJesus, Jr., of Middletown; five grandchildren, Victoria Alexis Maurizzio, Troy Alexander Maurizzio, Michael Madden, Jade DeJesus, Cayden Kali DeJesus; four brothers, Thomas Maurizzio, Jr. of Middletown, Frank Maurizzio of Middletown, Robert Maurizzio and his wife, Lena, of Shelby, Mich., David Maurizzio and his wife, Bonnie, of Middletown; four sisters, Vita Margarum of South New Berlin, N.Y., Maudie Ann Somer and her husband, Allen, of Wallkill, Debra Reed of Middletown, Linda Funderburk and her husband, Thomas, of Holly, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.Ralph was predeceased by his stepmother, Marjorie Sprague Maurizzio; his brother Michael Maurizzio; and sister, Kathleen Hamilton.Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, January 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.A Funeral Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, January 23 at 11 am at the funeral home. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family.Memorial contributions in Ralph's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 East Main Street, Middletown, NY 10940 or to the Town of Wallkill Veteran's Memorial Park.  Arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
