Ralph Hofheinz, ,of Middletown, died on Friday, March 11, 2011 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus surrounded by his loving family. He was 80.
The son of the late Herman Otto and Louise Mayer Hofheinz, he was born on May 16, 1930 in College Point, NY. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He spent 18 years as a state trooper and 8 years as a code enforcement officer for the Town of Wallkill. After his retirement, he and Shirley owned the American Antiques Shop in Kutztown, PA.
He loved telling jokes and had a great sense of humor. Ralph could be stubborn at times but he was always generous and enjoyed the cliché "he'd give you the shirt off his back". He and Shirley traveled the East Coast extensively in their motorhome. He also loved animals, especially his dog, Panda.
He is survived by his children, Wendy and her husband Joseph, David, Debbie, Lynn, Barbara and Christopher; stepdaughters, Diane and Cindy; his brother, Walter; and former wife and forever friend, Shirley; six grandchildren, and one great- grandchild.
He will sorely missed by all.
He was predeceased by one stepson, Edward Moore in 1997.
A graveside service with Military
Honors will be held at 1 pm on Friday, March 18, 2011 at O.C. Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen.
