Rachel Nolene Kolinski
October 2, 1924- October 22, 2022
Rachel Nolene Kolinski, a longtime resident of Middletown, entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022. She was 98 years old.
The daughter of Homer B. Nutt and Sarah E. Patten Nutt, she was born on October 2, 1924 in Parsons, Kansas. Rachel was one of seven children, four sisters, Margaret, Ruth, Teressa and Jean and two brothers, Homer and Frank.
Rachel married Joseph A. Kolinski on June 18, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, while he was on leave from World War II. They raised two children together, Kathleen (Kitty) Rotolo and Joseph J. Kolinski Jr.
Rachel worked at the O&W Railroad Station and the Dairymen's League. She also worked for many years at the former Horton Memorial Hospital in the Electrocardiography department as a technician and later as a cardiology secretary.
She was the devoted grandmother of seven grandchildren, Vicky (Roy) Brachfeld, Harry (Charolett) Rotolo, Cynthia Anderson, Craig Rotolo, Yvonne Kolinski, Kerri (Steve) Thompson, and Tammy Kolinski. She also had seventeen great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rachel was predeased by her husband Joseph A. Kolinski, her daughter Kathleen Rotolo, her son-in-law Harry Rotolo and her four sisters.
Services will be private and are under the direction of Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home.
