With great sadness we share the passing of Quintin Madriaga Garcia on March 30, 2023. Quintin was the third of ten children and was born to Juana and Camilo Garcia on October 31, 1937.
Quintin received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from University of Santo Tomas in Metro Manila, Philippines. After emigrating to the United States, he attended Fordham University for his Master's Degree in Education and Administration. He later became the Director of a Health Career Program in the Benjamin Franklin High School in Manhattan. He worked for the Job Corps Program starting as an Education Manager in 1978. He later became Deputy Regional Director for Region 2 Job Corps Program with the Department of Labor from which he retired in 2004. Quintin had a generous spirit, had a great sense of humor, and wanted everyone to live up to the best of their abilities. Above all else, he loved his family unconditionally.
Quintin is survived by the love of his life Vianney, his wife of 41 years, his beloved daughter Penelope (Carlo) Nevicosi and grandchildren Preston and Gianna, and his many nephews and nieces, who loved him dearly. We are all devastated by the loss of our wonderful and loving husband, father, uncle and friend. Quintin will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family request a donation be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or American Cancer Society.
