Obituary for Phillipa C. Nicholas
Phillipa C. Nicholas died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus. She was 72 years old. The daughter of the late Henry and Rose Wattley, she was born April 6, 1934 in Trinidad, West Indes. On October 10, 1956, she married her husband Horace. After starting their family, they moved to Mt. Vernon, NY. Phillipa was a good samaritan, who enjoyed attenting church services and community events. Her love of traveling led her across the globe, including an extended trip to Africa; where her mission was to tend to the needy in many ways. She lived a fulfilling life with deep appreciation and love for family. Phillipa is survived by her three loving children, June Phillip, Joseph Nicholas, and Cheryl Nicholas Persaud; ten beloved grandchildren Tasha White, Nyrekia White, Louis Phillips, Ewaun White, Leon Karanja Bright, Herschel Nicholas, Tedla Bright, Dellon Persaud, Benjamin Nicholas, Kimora Persaud; five cherished great grandchildren Sierra Phillips, Curai White, Leon Karanja Bright, Jr., Jayden Bennett, and Kylan White. She was predeceased by her husband, and one son, Leon Nicholas. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday (today), June 30, 2006 from 5 to 8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service of Remembrance will take place at 8 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Phillipa’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 332 N.
