Obituary for Phillip A. Pingotti
Phillip A. Pingotti
September 26, 1953-May 1, 2018
Middletown, NY
Phillip A. Pingotti, a lifelong resident of Middletown, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home.
The only child of Anthony and Theresa (Veenboer) Pingotti, he was born on September 26, 1953 in Middletown, New York.
He graduated from Middletown High School in the Class of 1971. Phil was in charge of the City of Middletown Department of Public Works for many years. He spent his time working on his machines, raising draft horses that were wedding attractions for many nuptials and reminiscing of days gone by with family and friends. He was a hard-working man who took pride in his work and enjoyed spending time with his family. The death of his precious 3-year-old granddaughter, Sydney, was an event that left him heartbroken.
Phil is survived by his son, Andrew and his wife Holly, his daughter Elizabeth, and her husband, Stephen Pekar, and his beloved grandchildren; Cooper and Saige Pingotti and Chloe Pekar; Denise Pingotti, the mother of his children, as well as his cat, Ralphie.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and his granddaughter Sydney just three months ago.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 5 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 11 A.M. with Fr. Dennis Nikolic officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Howells Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phil’s name to Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley in memory of Sydney.
