Obituary for Penny DeWinter
Penny DeWinter, a longtime area resident, died Sunday February 19 2006 at ORMC Arden Hill Campus, Goshen. She was 74 years old.
The daugter of the Richard and Emily LeFebore Grim, she was born on March 19, 1931 in Passaic New Jersey.
A family statement reads:” Penny was a thoughtful and generous Mom who loved creating beautiful mementos for us to cherish. Whether crocheting, hook-latching, upholstering or gardening, she made our home special.”
She is survived by one son, James T. DeWinter, Jr. and his wife, Sharon of Westbrookville; one daughter in law Anna Kiskis of New Windsor; four grandchildren, James A. DeWinter, Sr. and his wife, Heather, of Elizabethtown, PA, Ryan DeWinter and his fiancee Andrea, of Westbrookville, Stephen DeWinter and Katelyn DeWinter, both of New Windsor; one great grandson, Jimmy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James T. DeWinter, Sr, on December 7, 2005, one son, Stephen DeWinter, Sr., and her sister, Ruth Pfister.
Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, Feb. 23 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc. 130 Higland Avenue, Middletown.
A Funera Service of remembrance will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 24 at
11 am in Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church Rt 302 Circleville. Pastor Leo Jaloski will officate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Circleville, Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Penny’s name may be made to Spina Bifida 4590 MacArthur Blvd. NW Ste 250, Washington, DC, 20007-4226 or to a charity of one’s choice.
