Obituary for Paul E. Najac
Paul E. Najac of Middletown, NY, a former resident of Nyack, NY, died April 11, 2018, at the age of 89, at Park Manor Nursing Home. Renee, his wife of 65 years, was by his side.
The son of the late Reverend Elie O. Najac and Antoinette Telson Najac, Paul was born in Haiti and emigrated to the United States. In Haiti, Paul worked in a number of occupations, including teacher and published poet. He was known for his love of words, facility in several languages, joy of music (particularly classical), discussions of current events and philosophy, and enthusiasm for futbol. He enjoyed storytelling with friends and leaving everyone laughing with a joke.
He is survived by his wife, Renee, and his children; Clark-Eric and wife, Stiles M; Marjorie; Fahimie; and Gregory. Surviving siblings include Dr. Harold Najac and wife Ellie, and Jacqueline Beaufils. He will be missed by his grandchildren- Ian, Stiles R., Jacob, Greg, and Derek. He is also survived by four great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. He will be welcomed in heaven by his brothers Raul, Claude, his parents, and numerous other predeceased family and friends.
Per his wishes, Paul was cremated. Services and burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY on April 28 at 9:30a.m.
The family would like to extend our grateful thanks and appreciation to Dr. Alexander Frutcher, Dr. Auguston Rosas, Dr. Vincent Gulfo, the staff of the ORMC Rehabilitation Unit, all the staff at ORMC for their continuous care of Paul, and the Good Samaritan Home Care Agency.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Habitat for Humanity in
Paul’s name.
