Patricia Elizabeth Maher-Cronin, a retired registered nurse for Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Center in New Hampton, died at home on Monday, October 7, 2013. She was 84.
The daughter of the late Mildred Gross and Joseph Maher, she was born on March 17, 1929 in Omaha, NE. Pat was a 50-year resident of the area and was a member and eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was the widow of Cornelius J. Cronin, who predeceased her in 1988.
Pat is survived by her sons: Kevin F. Cronin and his wife, Paula of Middletown, John Cronin and his wife, Regina of Bethpage, NY and Michael Cronin and his wife, MaryAnne of Huntington, NY. She is also survived by her beloved grandsons: Michael Cronin and his fiancee, Michelle LeClaire of Bayshore, NY, Daniel Cronin of Huntington, NY, Brendan Cronin and his fiancee, Erica Quinones of Yonkers, NY and Kevin C. Cronin of Middletown, NY; and her beloved granddaughters: Jillian Cronin Chiarenza and her husband, Michael of South Huntington, NY, Mary Cronin, Siobhan Cronin, Deirdre Cronin, all of Middletown, and Meghan Cronin of Bethpage, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 10th at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 11th at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.Memorial contributions in Pat's name may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940.
