Bloomingburg, NY

Patricia A. Brennan a longtime resident of Bloomingburg NY, died on Thursday February 4 at O.R.M.C. Horton Campus surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. She was 73.

The daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Sheehan Paris she was born on October 15, 1936 in New York City.

Pat moved to the Bloomingburg in 1974. She was a fixture in her church, Our Lady of the Assumption in Bloomingburg. She served as a Eucharistic minister for her parish and organized and worked Summerfest and also served on many committees at OLA. Her immense faith and love for her religion was evident in her many faith based actions and memberships- she was a member of the Third Order of Carmelites, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and enjoyed teaching C.C.D. to children.

She will be remembered for her ability to put others needs before her own, and for her deep love of family. She was ultra-responsible and enjoyed giving of her self to many causes. Her great sense of giving was demonstrated in her activities with Sullivan County Office for the Aging, where she was instrumental in senior lunches, her involvement in her church and in her everyday dealings with all those fortunate to have encountered her. Her presence will be missed by her family, community and friends but her graceful spirit will accompany them always.

Patricia is survived by her five children, Thomas of Bloomingburg, Patricia of Otisville, Theresa Howell and her husband Wayne of Howells, Margaret Brennan- MacEwen and her husband Robert of Greenville and Kevin and his wife Lona of Middletown; three brothers, Patrick Paris and his wife Phyllis of Ocala, FL, Michael Paris and his wife Mary Lou of Warwick, NY and James Paris and his wife Alice of West Hempstead; and one sister, Bridget Roddy of Ridgewood, NJ. Pat also cherished her ten grandchildren; T.J, Courtney, Kayla, Alyssa, Matthew, Brandyn, Meghan, Andrew, Kevin, and Bryanna and her great-grandchild, Dylyn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Thomas, son Michael and one sister, Josephine. Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at Our Lady Of The Assumption Church, High Street, in Bloomingburg. Burial will follow in the family plot in Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.

Patricia’s children would like to extend a special thank you to the family, friends and medical staff who loved and cared for their mom.
