Pasquale Philip Sorino, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2021 with his family by his side. He was 95 years old.
Born April 8, 1926 in Middletown, New York, Pat was the son of the late Anna and Frank Sorino. He married Grace Sorino on January 11, 1948 at Saint Joseph’s Church in Middletown, New York. He was pre-deceased by his wife Grace which they had celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Together they had five children. Pat Sorino was a Veteran of the United States Navy Seaman First Class, U.S.N.R. In 1944. Pat worked at the O & W Railroad Station in Middletown as a clerk, and IBM in East Fishkill New York as a programmer. Following his retirement Pat worked at the Pine Bush school district as a bus driver, which he enjoyed immensely.
Pat was a religious man and member of Saint Joseph’s Church who was a lector and lead song on Sundays in his earlier years. He was an avid Yankee fan but also enjoyed golf, horseshoes, “ The slot machines,” and football. He loved music and three of his favorites were Frank Sinatra Dick Haymes and Rod Stewart. His favorite songs were My Way (Frank Sinatra) It had to be you (Dick Haymes) and his never ending singing tune “ Maggie May“ by Rod Stewart. Pat was a kind man who loved having barbecues with family and friends.
In his later years he became a resident of the Promenade in Middletown, New York. He was loved by all personnel, the residence and he was known as the jokester.
Pat is survived by his loving family. Pat Sorino, his eldest son of Evergreen Colorado, Anne Sorino and Joanne Huckvale of Croton on Hudson New York, Linda Sesa of Sellersville Pennsylvania, Jennie Sorino and her husband Jeff Dolfi of Saratoga springs New York, Frank Sorino and Joanna Puccio- Romaine of Middletown New York. He had four grandchildren, Rick, Carmine, Rebecca, and Christina. He was also blessed with eight great-grand children, Danny Maddie McCready Declan Gianna Georgia Jules and Lyla.
Visitation will be held at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, New York November 18, Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 149 Cottage St., Middletown, NY, Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11 am .
