Middletown, NY

Orlando Noriega, Sr. of Middletown NY, died on Saturday, March 24 at Orange Regional Medical Center Middletown, NY. He was 77.

The son of the late Roberto and Inez Viruet Noriega. Orlando was born on June 24, 1934 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1959, he moved from New York City to Middletown to raise his family. He worked for Middletown Nissan in customer relations. He was a man who loved God and was grateful for all he had achieved. Orlando loved life and being with people. He especially loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, nature and animals. He also loved music and dancing and was the Hat King. He was always the life of the party.

He is survived by his sons, Roberto and wife Tamaira of CA, Richard of PA , John of VA, his daughters, Margarita and husband Joe of PA and Rose Marie of Middletown; daughter-in-law Paula Noriega; former wife Isabel Gonzalez; sisters, Iris Vehamil and husband Raphael of CA, Angelina Noriega of Puerto Rico, Ninette Estrada and her husband Ruben of Middletown, NY, and Patria and her husband William Rivera of MD; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a wonderful number of nieces and nephews. Orlando was predeceased by his son, Orland Noriega, Jr., his parents and one brother, Carlos.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with funeral services performed by Pastor Steve Offringa at 8 pm on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Applebee-Mc Phillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. On Sat., March 31st, visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 am. The funeral procession will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 to travel to Wallkill Cemetery for the 11 am graveside service.
