Ora Donald Sutton, 86 passed away peacefully on December 23 rd , 2023, in Middletown, NY.
He was born on December 21 st , 1937, in Middletown NY to Ora Dayton and Helen Sutton.
Known as Donald and “Scooby” to many of his friends and family, he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He remained an active member of the Shawangunk Fish & Game Association for many years. He enjoyed
spending time outdoors with his beloved Beagles, hunting small game. He also enjoyed catching
rattlesnakes and showcased them at the Shawangunk Sportsman Show at the Orange County
Fairgrounds. Don had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He resided in Howells, NY for 65
years and was well known and loved by his neighbors and everyone who knew him.
He was predeceased by three siblings, Gary Sutton of Buffalo, NY, Ann Edelberger of Florida and Jeffrey
Sutton of Middletown, NY. He is survived by one daughter, Diane Ippolito, of Middletown, NY and three
grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his love of many years, Dotty Ann DeFeo
of Middletown. It is her compassion and care that he thrived on for the many years of his life.
His final arrangements are being cared for through Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland
Ave, Middletown NY. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life or final service will be determined
at a later date. Because of his immense love of animals, contributions in his name may be made to the
Middletown Humane Society, 142 Bloomingburg Rd., Middletown, N.Y. 10940
