Obituary for Nikolla Ila
Nikolla Ila
1/26/38-1/2/22
Middletown, NY
‘A Beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived everyone’s friend.’
Nikolla was born in Ferizaj, Kosova on January 26, 1938 to Noka and Prena Ila. He was one of 12 children and immigrated to America in 1968. He graduated from High School and went to receive his Bachelors Degree in History. He loved teaching, playing soccer, singing and always running around whistling. His favorite thing to say, "Have a Full Blast!!"
He married the love of his life Matija on August 27, 1967 in their homeland and then immigrated to America together to raise their family.
Nick was a faithful and devoted husband, father, and grandparent who took care of his family. He loved the holidays (especially Christmas) and the gathering of loved ones and friends on these many occasions.
He worked in New York City on Park Avenue and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the big city. Nick moved with his wife upstate to the town of Wawayanda when he retired and although it was a much different and more tranquil environment, he enjoyed the country setting.
Nick is survived by his loving wife, Matija at home, his daughter, Irena Lulashi, of Middletown, son, Ernest Ila (Victoria), of Yonkers, and five cherished Grandchildren; Kristina, Robert, Samantha, Marina, and Angelina.
He was predeceased by 11 siblings.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 5, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY 10940.
