Nellie McClurg, a lifetime Middletown resident, died on Friday, February 9, 2018 following a short illness at Middletown Park Manor. She was 92.
The daughter of the late Jan and Ursula Prytyka Duczeminski, she was born on July 17, 1925 in Middletown, NY. Nellie married Samuel H. McClurg on September 26, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Church in Middletown. From the moment she became a mother, Nellie’s entire life became about family, they were everything to her. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Maureen McClurg of Malibu, CA, Kelly McClurg of Huntsville, AL, Megan Nywening and her husband Kurt of Summerville, SC and Ryan McClurg of Middletown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband Samuel H. McClurg and her parents, she was preceased by a brother, Joseph Duczeminski; two sisters, Catherine Duczeminski and Amelia Hyndman.
As per Nellie’s wishes, her services will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.
