Obituary for Naomi Cuevas
Naomi Cuevas
Naomi was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who was known for her kind spirit, caring words and loving nature.
Naomi had unwavering faith in God and was a very involved church member and volunteer, having served her church in the Bronx as the Usher Captain for several years. She also served her community, while employed, as a lisenced phlebmotomist where she encountered and touched the lives of many people. It was in her nature to make sure everyone was comfortable and taken care of.
Naomi was an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She loved to watch the food channel and cooking channels, HGTV, and Ellen as well as the NY Yankees, whether on TV or in attendance at the stadium. Naomi was also an avid movie lover, collecting dvds and frequenting the theater. She liked playing bingo, reading the Bible, and cleaning her house. She loved keeping things in order. The winter, snow and holidays brought her so much joy, especially setting up her Christmas village collection.
Family was especially important to Naomi. She was very involved in the lives of her loved ones and enjoyed spending time with them. She was easygoing, liked to have a good time, eager to listen and quick to lend a helping hand. Naomi laughed easy, loved hard, and wanted the best for everyone.
She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her five daughters; Judy Figg, Alice Lorenzo, Brenda Lawrence, Carol Cuevas, and Georgette Green; one sister, Alice Palm; 13 grandchildren, Christopher, Jamie, Lauren, Tamara, Marcus, Michael, Matthew, Aaron, Justin, Jason, Jennifer , Levern and Nicole; and 8 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Adryhannah, Mariah, Cheryl, McKenzie, Isabella, Mila, and Gabriella.
