Nancy L. Hadden of Middletown died July 6, 2012 at Orange Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was 59 years old. Nancy was born on September 17, 1952 to Charlotte and the late Leroy McAloon in Middletown. After the death of her father, she was raised by her mother and loving stepfather, Irving Sturman. She worked in the jewelry department at Sam's Club in Middletown for over 19 years.
Nancy will be remembered by her family and friends as someone who always put other people's needs in front of her own. She was loving, kind, considerate and had a great sense of humor. She kept a smile on her face all of the time. She loved to shop too. A devoted mother, sister, daughter and an amazing grandmother; Nancy's grandchildren were the light of her life.
She is survived by her companion, John Hedges of Bloomingburg ; her sons, Paul Hadden of Middletown and Christopher and his life partner George of Wurtsboro; her daughter Shannon of Middletown; brothers, Steve McAloon and his wife Cindy of AL, Howard Sturman and his wife Jan of S.C and sisters, Debi Benton of NJ, Bonnie Wilson of Warwick, NY, and Judy Lopez of Saratoga Springs, NY; and her cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Abby, Rebecca, Alex, and Nicholas. She is also survived by her former husband, Paul Hadden of Middletown.
In addition to her father Leroy , Nancy was predeceased by her surrogate father, Irving Sturman, her brother, Barry Sturman and sister, Linda McAloon.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, July 12, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 11 am on Friday, Dennis Johnston will officiate. Cremation will be private at the convenience of the family.
