Myra J. Schoenberg of Circleville, NY and formerly of Chester, NY died following a short illness on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother; she was 74.
The daughter of the late Arnold Taub and Esther Green Taub, Myra was born on November 17, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a Daughter of Israel and a lifetime member of Hadassah. She married Robert Schoenberg on June 21, 1964 in New York City. Myra was both an avid golfer and bridge player. She enjoyed reading and was a dedicated member of her book club. She was politically astute, held strong beliefs, and stayed involved with many of the causes she believed in.
In addition to her loving husband of 51 years, Robert, she is survived by her son, Bruce Schoenberg and his wife, Danna of Chappaqua, NY, Richard Schoenberg of Circleville and Wendy Schoenberg Frazier and her husband, Jeffrey of Port Jefferson Station, L.I. Myra is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Maria Patrizio; one sister, Anne Bonnie Katz of Chester; and eight beloved grandchildren: Paige "Ali", Benjamin, Ellen, Aaron, Joshua, Alex, Kyle and Sarah Kate.
Services will be held at Temple Sinai at 12 noon, today and burial will follow in Temple Sinai Cemetery.
