Monica Janine Glielmi Masi a lifetime area resident died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at home. She was 51 years old.
The only daughter of Savino and Monica Beech Glielmi, she was born on November 21, 1959 in Newburgh. Born and raised in the restaurant business, she worked as a waitress at the Colonial Diner in Middletown.
Janine had a big heart and was very giving. She was never judgmental and loved to please others. She cooked for any and everybody and made a great sauce. She was an artist who enjoyed hiking, antiquing, motorcycle riding and being outdoors. She was interested in homeopathic medicine, loved wind chimes and feeding the birds.
Janine is survived by her daughter, Jessica Masi of Pine Bush; her father, Savino and stepmother, Annette of Middletown and her mother, Monica Glielmi of Birmingham, England; brothers, Paul Glielmi and his wife, Nancy of Pine Bush and Mark Glielmi and his wife, Maureen of Middletown; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Services will be held today (Wednesday) May 11 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown. Cremation was private.
