Obituary for Miriam Zayas
Miriam Zayas, beloved mother, died on April 14, 2020 at Valley View Healthcare Center. She was 85.
The daughter of the late Eduardo and Maria Ortiz Salichs, she was born on December 4, 1934 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She was the loving wife of Edilberto Zayas, who predeceased her on September 1, 2004.
Miriam was fondly known as the "princess" at Valley View, her entire family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care she received there over the years.
Miriam is survived by her son Eduardo, daughter Rosemarie Hernandez and her husband Frank, brother Ramon Salichs, sisters Rosa Salichs both of Albany and her seven grandchildren, Edgar, Christian, Matthew, Lisa, Eliana, Cecila and Alejandro.
She was predeceased by her sister Doris Ten.
Services will be private and burial will be in the family plot in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
