Otisville, NY

Minnie Rose Valentino, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. She was 75.

Born on January 24, 1939 in Sparrowbush, NY, Minnie was the daughter of the late Oscar and Gertrude Weist Georgi. Minnie married Frank C. Valentino, Sr. in Otisville and they shared 50 years together until his death in 2011. She worked for Wessells farms in Otisville and maintained her own gorgeous gardens at her home that delighted everyone who passed by. She enjoyed playing scratch off lottery tickets and Quick Draw. Minnie loved all of the holidays, especially Christmas and will be remembered for her absolutely perfect Christmas tree.

Minnie is survived by her daughter Cecelia Jordan and her husband John of Greenville; and her son, Frank Valentino, Jr and his wife Dee of Otisville; sisters, Katherine Blatt of Ben Salem, PA and Dolores Weist of Budd Lake, NJ; sisters-in-law, Ruth Valentino and Barbara Cataldo and brother-in-law Dominick Valentino and his wife Fran; grandchildren, Kayla Valentino ,Kristie Valentino, Aaron Doolittle, Anthony Valentino,John Jordan III and his wife Lisa, Jennifer Jordan, Austin Jordan and Avery Jordan and one great-grandson, Liam Jordan, several nieces and nephews,  as well as her cat Pumpkin.

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11 am, burial will follow in the family plot in Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery in Otisville, NY.

Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc.

A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11 am, burial will follow in the family plot in Mt. Hope Plains Cemetery in Otisville, NY.
