Obituary for Mildred "Millie" Ingrassia
Mildred Parris Ganski Ingrassia
“Millie”

Mildred entered eternal rest on December 1, 2018 at home after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
The daughter of the late Alice and Ernest Parris, Mildred grew up in Goshen, NY then later moved to Middletown.
After attending Goshen schools, she spent most of her life working in retail as Manager of the Cosmetics and Tabacco Departments in Lloyd’s, Manager of CVS at Orange Plaza, Salesperson and later Ladies’ Department Manager at Kassel Brothers and Door Greeter and Demonstrator at Sam’s Club.
Her work gave her the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and she always brightened everyone’s day with a smile and kind words. She truly loved people, especially children. Millie was a sweet, kind, pure of heart, gentle lady who always wanted to bring happiness to others. According to a friend, she had “a certain loveliness” about her that was evident to all. Any day she could make someone smile was a wonderful day and she had so many wonderful days. The Alzheimer’s disease took so much from Millie, but her sweetness and love remained until the end.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Patricia Ganski and her partner, Paul Kulpa, who together lovingly cared for Millie at home throughout her entire illness. She is so greatly missed. Mom, Thank you for giving me such a wonderful life and for always being there for me. You were my everything. She is also survived by nieces and a nephew: Laura Parris of Middletown, Jaynie Muir of New Windsor, Jayne De Haan of Seattle, WA and Jennifer and Gregory Parris of Georgia.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers: Gale Parris, Waverly Parris, and Raymond Parris; and sister-in-law Wallis Parris.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions in Millie’s name may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011. Washington, DC 20090, or by phone at 1-800-272-3900, or to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown NY.
