Obituary for Michael Patrick Mitchell
MIDDLETOWN - Michael Patrick Mitchell, beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend has suddenly passed away on March 15, 2022 at age 41. Mike was born on April 27, 1980 in Nyack, NY.
He grew up in Slate Hill, NY and attended Minisink Schools. Later, Mike lived in Florida for several years where he developed a love and gift for golf. He returned back home to be closer to his family, where he became part of the custodial team for
Monroe Woodbury Schools. He continued to impact others around him with hard work and dedication by always being eager to lend a hand and never strayed away from hard work. Mike would always make others laugh, could recite every rap song
and could quote any movie, especially comedies. Nothing meant more to him than his family which also included a large group of friends. Above all, one of Mike’s fondest roles was being an involved and loving uncle. He lived for his nephews and
niece and excelled at being an uncle they would grow up to look up to. The legacy he has left will do just that! Above all, Mike was a loyal, dedicated, and truly amazing person. His life was taken too soon for the ones he loved and who loved him,
however, not believed to be taken in vane. Mike will never be forgotten and his love and laughter will live on in those he loved most.
Mike is survived by his loving mother, Kathleen Bacigalupo and her husband John, his brother,
Christopher and his wife Megan, his stepbrother, John and his wife Jennifer, nephews; Mason, Bryson and Jayden and niece; Julia.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
