Michael Joseph Faso, a longtime Scotchtown resident , died on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. He was 75.
The son of the late Michael A. and Luella Hasbrouck Faso, he was born on August 28, 1946 in the Bronx. He attended James Monroe High School in The Bronx and after graduation, enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. On August 18, 1968, Mike married Zoe C. Sanabria in the Bronx, NY. He served as a NYC Transit Police Officer until he retired in 1980. He then started his own trucking business and worked as a contractor for Wakefern in Middletown. An area resident for nearly 50 years, Mike was a member of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Bullville, NY. Mike was extremely generous and an excellent provider for his family. He was a hard worker and a compassionate man who helped many. He always thought about family, especially his wife.
In addition to his beloved wife, Zoe at home, Mike is survived by his sons, Christopher J. Faso of Middletown and Michael A. Faso and his wife Laura of Pine Bush; one brother Vincent and his wife Margo of Phoenix, AZ and two cherished grandchildren, Aaron and Lucas. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Ronald.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Paul's R.C. Church 2800 Rt. 17K, Bullville, NY 10915.
