Michael J. Walsh
105 Cortright Road
Middletown, N.Y.
Michael J. Walsh, a longtime resident, Electrician by trade, and retired Corrections Officer, passed away
peacefully with his family by his side at Sapphire Nursing Facility. He was 80 years old.
The son of the late Gerald and Mary Walsh, and brother of Patrick, he was born in New York City on
December 1. 1941. He married his first love, Linda Lee Zink on February 18, 1961, in the Bronx. They
raised three sons and celebrated 29-years of marriage until her untimely passing in 1990.
Years later he was lucky enough to find love again and married his second wife Tina Garrison spending
many years of happiness together.
Michael was a devoted family man, who with his family welcomed many foster children into their lives.
He was an avid Mets and Giants fan. He loved camping, golf, and family get togethers. He volunteered
for Little League and often was coaching or rooting at a game or some other sporting event. Michael had
a heart of gold and cherished every young person who came into their household. With his caring,
compassion, and concern for others, he made a difference in many many lives.
He is survived by his three loving sons and their families; Daniel and his wife Bari of Middletown, Craig
Walsh of Fallsburg, Mike, and his wife Jennifer of Fair Oaks and six cherished grandchildren; Cody, Bryan,
Michael, Sydney, Jacob, and Hannah. With his second marriage, he was blessed with even more children
and grandchildren, and the opportunity to enjoy all the activities, holidays and outings that meant so
much to him. Our family was fortunate to have so many that thought so much of our dad. For all who
kept him close in their hands and hearts, we are eternally grateful. And while we mourn his loss, we are
indebted to everyone who cared and visited him during his illness.
