Maximina “Maxie” Contreras- May 16, 1936-March 2, 2023, Middletown, NY
Maxie Contreras May 16, 1936 - March 2, 2023. 86 years old. Passed into eternal life surrounded by her family at Garnet Health Medical Center.
Born in Rio Cañas, Puerto Rico to Ramon Santiago and Modesta Santiago as the second of 16 children.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Juan G. Contreras , her children: Sandra E. Contreras, Evelyn Contreras González and spouse Joel González, Gilbert A. Contreras and spouse Kelly Coffman Contreras.
Grandchildren: Michael A.Mejia, Jonathan J. Mejia, Alyssa B. Gonzalez, Erika R. Iqbal, Brandon A. Contreras, Joelis K. Gonzalez, and Evan G. Contreras.
Great grandchildren: Anthony Mejia, Alexander Mejia, Yessenia Mejia, Maximus Mejia, Gabriel Contreras, Isaiah González, Isabella González, Zahra Iqbal, Sophia Contreras, and Amira Iqbal. She is also survived by 11 siblings and countless nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her love of family, music and cooking.
Visitation on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 9:00AM-12:00PM, followed by Christian Mass at Church of St. Anastasia in Harriman, NY. Final resting place will be at Wallkill Cemetery.
